Smoke trees are a beautiful ornamental addition to a garden with wispy smoky appearance due to the flower panicles in early summer and a brilliant range of fall colors that outlast most other trees going into October and November.

Smoke trees grow well in relatively dry, poor condition soil which adds to fall colors and keeps plant from growing very large.

The flowers bloom in clusters in large open panicles that have the appearance of smoke rising from the bush from a distance giving the plant it's name.
